Portable Airbrush Setup.. Lets get more hobby done this year

Image
Seeing as I spend alot more time on the road these days I wanted a second portable airbrush setup I could take with me. At first I debated just getting a small compressor that I could stow in my kit but the price difference wasn't much by the time I added in the extra bita and pieces I would need eg a water trap and hoses so I decided to go for a full kit with a cheapo brush as well. The above setup can be found posted on ebay for £35 not too bad at all its supposed to be shipping from the UK although the seller is based in China so we'll see how long shipping actually takes, you can find it on ebay here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Air-Brush-Dual-Action-Spray-Gun-Gravity-Feed-Airbrush-Compressor-Hose-Paint-Kit/122559446835?epid=1079345141&hash=item1c891cbf33:m:muRkAlkp5lfL7IKjVDsPZGg Now this setup will be in no way a full replacement for a compressor with tank which I would always recommend if you can afford it, however I am hoping that it will enable me to get some ...

New Year Sighted....Back to Team Yankee

Image
So my regular gaming group have decided to go with Team Yankee as the game of the new year starting out at 50pts. I'd already brought quite a few bits and pieces over the last 18months but got distracted as per usual with other projects and a break from gaming. So with the release of Stripes I've decided to re visit my desert themed force, I made progress on the M1A1s (will run as IPM1 for now) earlier in the year but still need to add the finishing touches. However with addition of M60s in Stripes giving the US a MBT option coming in at 4pts a piece with the same gun as the M1 and the addition of the M113 scout units it opens up more options for list building as the IPM1 comes in a 9pts a piece.  So I've decided to start out with a mech infantry force and my initial list is looking like this: Mech Formation M113 HQ 1 Mech Platoon Alpha xtra dragon 7 Mech platoon Bravo xtra dragon 7 M113 Scout (2x2) 4 M901 ITV (2x3) 9 M106 Mortars 3 M60s (x3) ...

Ram Conversions Finished

Image
So I finished these earlier this year but apparently I'm not the greatest at keeping up blogging, shall try this again with the new year on the way. First step after making the initial hulls was to add some green stuff to make the correct shape, as such I say green stuff, I actually used yellow/grey milliput its cheaper and I find it easier to work with. Milliput smooths well with water whilst it is still in its pilliable state, has a good ammount of working time and cures off really well in about 3hrs or so, its my goto hobby putty. Once the milliput was cured it was time to sand it back smooth and then head to the paint shop. Here are the finished Rams, the 50cals were added from the bitz box and the camp netting was made from some medical gauze soaked in indian ink. Finally the crew member was a spare from the PSC Lloyd carriers that come with the 6pdrs. The rules for transports have now been adjusted by the latest round of LFTF for version 4 and now have to s...

Flames of War V4 and some Ram Kangaroo's

Image
I'm back, been too long... So since my last post version 4 of flames of war has hit. It's caused quite a stir in the flames community and after being somewhat unsure of the tabled changes i finally got a copy and am looking forward to exploring v4. After I've managed to play a few more games I'll post back further thoughts. So far though my initial impressions are that v4 encourages you to create army lists that are more representative of the force you are looking to represent. No divisional support choice's count for your company morale anymore so i think we'll all see alot less gear in the rear on a flames tabletop. Another major change is reserves are worked out on a 40% points total of your force now.. it's no longer platoons counts.. Selection of you're force is now massively different to v3, even more so since recon units no longer lift gone to ground and smoke has been limited to one bombardment per battery per game.. As time permits and i g...
